Default AT&T 8300 OS upgrade questions

Please Login to Remove!

From what I can tell 4.5 has some benefits over the current AT&T OS. There are so many versions and threads out there that I want to make sure I have the correct version.

Would anyone be able to provide a link to the correct OS upgrade?

Is it worth the effort and potential headaches?

Thank you in advance.

Being on AT&T won't impact anything?
Is it really worth the effort to upgrade?
Thanks for the quick reply

What effort? It's a fairly simple process.

may i ask what the key advantages of the upgrade are? i think you get video camera and html email.
does it include media player playlists?

I did find this:

That is a fairly decent feature list in that article, yes.

So no spell check on the Curve? It's missing from the list in the PC Mag article, but it's listed for 8100s, 8800s, and even 8700s. Kind of strange.

The Curve already had spell check. It's not a new feature for OS 4.5

Would this version work for me? I am on cellular One.
It is now AT&T, but when you switch over, they give you a new sim with the new phone.
I just don't want to mess up my 8300. I will be switching to the bold when it comes out!

I see there is a 4.5 .81 vs. .75 now.
Does it matter which one an 8300 user uses?

as long as it is FOR the 8300, it is good. Not the 8310 or 8320 or 8330.
