The best OS for your BB is the one that works best for you. My personal advice is if the BB is working as it is supposed to and isn't broken, don't try to fix it with an OS upgrade just because there is a new one available. You can turn it into a brick if you aren't careful. An OS upgrade isn't that hard, but accidents can happen.

As a new BB user (judging by the number of posts that is) you need to get to know the device before you start messing with the internals, so to speak. And with an 8330, you probably have about the newest "official: non-Beta OS.

If you're considering an upgrade of the OS then read the latest OS thread for your model stickied at the top of the forum. There's discussion there about changes, issues, etc.

Again like others have warned - most upgrades go smoothly IF you follow the instructions in the posts. Though sometimes things can and do go wrong. I have to say everyone on this site is extremely helpful and some are BB Gurus!

I too am with Verizon and I followed the steps in the posts and the only problem I had after upgrading from 4.3 to 4.5 was I had to call Verizon to resend my SERVICE BOOKS so that I can enable HTML emails. Other than that I feel like I have a new phone since I hated the fax that 4.3 does not have HTML Email!

Welcome and good luck to you!

You don't need to call Verizon to resend your service books. You can do so yourself by logging into your BIS account.

You don't have to call them to resend your service books. You can do it yourself. Just login (or register) here: BlackBerry Internet Service

Hey JS,

I did not have that information to access the BIS account. :D
I had the pin number but not the password...so they (verizon) did it for me...

Right, It is an option, I was just informing the OP that they don't "need" to do so. In your case, if you are not able to log into your account, you do.

Yeah Verizon as you know LIKES to have TOTAL CONTROL of what you can do (FOR FREE) and what you have to PAY FOR! :(

I have been with Verizon since PRIMECO (for all those Ol' School Peeps)
