Default After Formating Media Card- Lost Memory?

Please Login to Remove!

I received a 8gb ScanDisk memory card and after formating it on the 8310, it said free space 3.6gb and available 3.4gb.

Anyone know what happened there?

If you are on OS 4.5, it will read the full 8gb which is actually something like 7.6gb.

If you are on OS 4.2, your BB will only recognize 4gb, hence your 3.6.

Actually right now I am in the process up downloading the 4.5 OS. So what will happen after that?

But before formatting it, it said 7.6gb then formating it went to the 3.6.

After downloading 4.5 you should format your card and it should show about 7.6gb free.

It's possible to format again? I just uploaded a play list. I should of upgraded to the 4.5 first and then messed with the media card.

You can format the card as many times as you like. You will lose data from the card if you don't have it backed up.
