Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8300 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.81 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.81
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.55
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.68
* File name: 8300M_PBr4.5.0_rel81_PL2.7.0.68_A4.5.0.55_F100.exe
* File size: 74.04MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8300:

1. Make sure you have the Desktop Manager 4.2 or higher installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

To find previous versions of the OS for this device, click: Latest OS: 8300 4.5.0.75 / 4.5.0.52 (MultiLanguage/East Asian Lang)

Thanks for linking! Is there a "changelog" for these releases, by any chance?

there is never a change log for these releases. Well that's usually the case 95% of the time

.52 has been rock-solid for me - can anyone who has loaded this up give us some impressions? I usually jump all over new releases but the *only* issue I have would be the Image Download popup in emails

Not been able to verify it yet, but it's supposed to fix issues with syncing of multiple BB calendars with Outlook, at least...

No, you can't load it directly from the phone. You MUST have a Windows PC and you must use USB to load the OS.

So far for me, it fixed my BB Messenger losing contacts after being reset or having them go to "Pending PIN Confirmation" status. This itself is worth it for me.
