Default Media Card formatting question

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my media card put in my BB 8310 (8GB) and it says I have 7.5 GB of free space. Do I still need to format my card? I've read various posts saying that they formatted their cards and then it said they had less space.

No, you don't need to, although it won't hurt anything. I have not read that formatting it will give you less space. If you have OS 4.5 on your 8310, it should show 7.5 - 7.6 gb filespace.

Just did it and before it said I had 7.6 GB total and 7.5 GB free, and now it says I have 7.6 GB total and 7.6 GB free, so it actually gave me some space.

Same here. Got the card from Amazon yesterday and LOVE it. No longer need the iPod with me and it replaced 2 flash drives. Awesome. I will try to "loose" the laptop too and just use the workstations at the offices that I go to.
