It gives a error "handheld does not have the reuqired servicebooks please contact bb"
what does that means?

You need a BB Data plan to connect to Messenger. Your profile says 8700. Do you have a different BlackBerry with wifi that you are referring to? The 8700 doesn't have wifi.

If you dont have a BB data plan then you will not be able to use the BB messenger via wifi, sorry i thought you had one, hence the yes answer

No I don't I just regular service, I'm not on the US but I have Wifi at home is that a problem? do you need a bb plan to connect to messenger?

JiveTalk is the only one I know of that will support that over wifi only.

then you can use that via wifi... (edit,to what JC said, wouldnt it work if its a web messenger like on a webpage? he just has to set up the browser for wifi)

yes you can.... as long as you change you browser settings to wifi/hotspot browser

hi quick question let's say i have the blackberry browser (i had blackberry plan before) and now i don't have it anymore will i still be able to use the browser on wifi?
