Default recent messages won't go away on home screen

Please Login to Remove!

Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem, but I have been unsuccessful in finding a fix.

On my home screen, it has a list of recent messages, upcoming calendar appointments, my call log and the applications menu. My most recent message items often won't go away, even if I completely delete them. If I click on them to read them, they come up as if they still exist, but if i try to view a list of all messages, it says i don't have any (because i delete them after i read them).

I have upgraded to the most recent OS hoping that would fix it, but the problem immediately returned after i received some messages. Same thing happened when I tried to do a reset (ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE), the current message list cleared but upon receiving more messages, the problem still occurred.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or am I out of luck?

I've run into the problem in the past, usually SMS messages are the culprit on my 8320/4.5. I found that going to the message list, selecting the top header line, and choosing "mark prior read" from the menu fixed the problem 95% of the time.

got it right now on my 4.5.0.42 but its the VM.

Im trying to wipe the OS now and start over.

Ah, I have tried this trick too, but this one never works for me. The only thing that has worked has been when I upgraded the OS and the manual reset, neither of which I want to do every time this happens. So I was hoping there was a more permanent fix.
