Default Google Sync Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded google sync yesterday and ran into some problems.

If I create a calender event on my google calender itself via online, it will sync into my phone.

If I create a new calender event on my phone, it does not sync to my google calender online.

If I edit the calender event that I made from google online which sync to my phone, the changes does not change on the google calender website

Is this normal or what am I doing wrong?

I have the 8330 version 4.3.0.127

Were the events from your Handset already there or were they created AFTER google sync was installed?

The events will only sync to the google calendar FROM your handset only if they were created after the install of google sync.

Open the Google Sync application and view the time stamp of the last update. Is it after your change?

When in automatic update mode, by default the app updates every 2 hours, but I believe it also wants to update as changes are made on the handset. That may not be happening with you though.

I am currently upgrading to 4.5, maybe this will fix the problem.

FYI - I made a new calender, did manual sync and it still did not work :(

Hopefully the upgrade will fix this problem.

I had similar problems with Google Sync 0.4.4 on my original install. However, during the installation I didn't check the box for setting permissions. I removed and re-installed, with the check box checked, and haven't had a problem since.

Ok I did some playing around with my google sync and such. I noticed that the calendar I use on my phone is the @tmo.blackberry.com and syncs perfect with Google sync. Now when I changed it in Options> Advanced options> Default services to my @gmail; it stopped working.

Try changing your default calendar to see if that helps any.

May be I'm one of the lucky ones; but I was able to sync both ways. From device calender to google calendar and from gcal to device cal. I just had to sync once I created a new event on the phone and it showed up on gcal on the website. I also moved an event that was created on gcal on the website to a different date/time on the phone and as soon as I synced the event change showed up on the website. Even though under sync options it said "automatic" to when to sync, I had to explicitly select "Sync now" for the events to sync.
