ok my boyfriend recently bought a curve and we were unable to get evdo service on it so i called tech support for sprint and they told me it was a defective phone so i ordered another and while i was waiting for the new one to come in i put him on my old WE 8830 and it was still unable to get EVDO service so i know its either the network or his plan, so when his new phone came in suprise no EVDO signal just a small 1x still...so i called and was transferred and transferred until i decided to just call a number i have listed for blackberry tech support, and she had me try a self pin to pin message and that never went through so now my boyfriend wants to just give up on blackberries all together. i work for sprint and i have had a blackberrry for almost a year and a half now so i would know if it was me who was causing the error or not
yea after the first curve and the WE 8830 didnt work i even switched him to unlimited everything to hope maybe it was the plan but that still didnt work
yes its already included with the simply everything or even on the employee pricing plan for family its included for 30 dollars. when i go to sprint.blackberry.com to try to activate it and it says that the information that i put was incorrect and i copied it directly off the phone and when i try to regist the HRT is never goes through
If I were you, I would call Sprint (or yourself?) and confirm that THE BB Data Plan is in FACT on the account. A CSR making a mistake, or the Data Plan dropping off the account is not unheard of.

I had this same problem with my previous 8830 WE and it kept bouncing between 1x, 1X EV then EVDO back to 1x. They did everything over the phone and eventually sent me a new one. The new one worked fine. I think its a problem with the 8830 WE. My curve works like a champ!

yea they said it should work that it is provisioned and also i thought i would throw in that the phone when i try to reprovision it will go to 1xevdo in small letters and then when i hit ok that it has provisioned succesfully it immediatley goes back down to 1x
I have a curve from Sprint with the simply everything plan, however when they set it up I recall them stating that they had to go thru some extra steps with Simply Everything for using BB Data. I'm guessing someone missed a step in that process of his account, probably a missing code or something but it does have to be on their end. Be persistant, you'll evenually find someone that knows what they are doing.
