Default Can't download AIM onto my 8310 Curve? - 08-25-2008, 08:51 PM

Sorry if this is been covered before in a previous topic. I am a newbie to the BB world and I am trying to download AOL instant messanger onto my 8310 curve. I have both the unlimited data and unlimited text. I saw somewhere to download AIM to go to blackberry.com/aim on the BB device and download it through there, but there was an error saying that my phone does not support this program? Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to get AIM on the 8310?

Thanks,
BD

k...here is how you do it.....you should have an icon for "MEDIA NET". Click on that.....then goto "3 Mail and Messaging", click on that, then click on "MOBILE IM". This will install the Instant Messenger on your AT&T 8310 it will allow you to use AIM, Windows Live and Yahoo Messenger. This is the only way to get it on AT&T and it does work great. After it downloads there will be an ICON on your screen for Instant Messenging.

I'm new here but from what I've read in these forums, don't you have to take extra steps to use Yahoo IM on a BB with AT&T because of some service book? Maybe I read an old thread and that's not the case anymore.

But it is NOT the official AOL AIM client.
