Default New phone wont open attachments

Please Login to Remove!

I really could use some help on my new Curve 8320. I had this identical phone up until my charging and syncing port broke away from my phone. I was not able to transfer my data from my old phone to my identical new model. I have gotten all transferred to the same set up but i am not able to get the attachments to open. I keep getting "this attachment type can not be viewed on your device" I have searched and similar problems have been raised but the responses have not resolved my problem. On my new phone I have the blackberry service 4.5.0 and the Documents to go 1.002.016 installed. I have wiped the phone clean, reinstalled and have made sure that all have permissions to the "allow" status. The funny thing is my old phone that did open all attatchments with no problem had the blackberry attachment service loaded but not the Documents to go. Somebody please help!

What kind of attachments are you attempting to open? The device only supports certain kinds of attachments.

I have tried excel, word, and powerpoint. On the old phone I was able to open all of these attachments including a pdf. I did not try the pdf as i do not have software for that on the new phone.

So, you have the Blackberry ATtachment Service installed? It's listed under Options >Advanced Options >Applications? Have you tried pulling the battery?

I have the Blackberry Attachment Service 4.5, Documents to go 1.002.016 on the phone. I have tried pulling the battery, i have wiped the blackberry and reinstalled the entire 4.2 and 4.5 os and in both instances they did not open the attachments. It kept coming up with a pop up "this attachment type cannot be viewed on your device". I also have resent service books after each install.

Are they Office 2007 attachments? They are not compatible.
