Hi everyone im new and this is my first post. I have a Blackberry 8320 on orange that has been given to me. My problem is its showing a battery with a red line through it on screen all the time, even if i try to charge it it still stays the same. I would appreciate any info before i go and buy a battery for it as i hope the blackberry has not had its days lol.

Does the battery hold a charge? If so, how long does it last?

Welcome to BBF, did you try to do a battery pull then charging the phone again?

Thanks for your replys, if i take the battery out for a while then put it back the red light at the top of the blackberry comes on a few seconds. Then all the screen shows is the battery icon with the red line through it. It seems the battery will charge ok but only in a drop in charger ie not in the blackberry. This battery icon is in the centre of the blackberry screen ie its not going any further or loading. I was wondering how to try a reset, however i do not have any software for this (if needed)

Ways to do a reset:

1. Press ALT+CAPS+DEL -- this will do a soft reset.

2. Better bet might be to do a battery pull which is a hard reset.

Does it work at all? Or is that a white screen with that icon there?

Sounds like the OS needs to be reinstalled.

Thanks for every ones help, i have now sorted the problem. In case anyone ever has this problem it was actually the battery at fault as it appears to have more than one circuit, thanks again.
