I have an issue with my Verizon Wireless 8330 that is driving me crazy. About 30 seconds - 1 min after I recieve a new email on my bb, the "new message alert" disappears (little envelope with red asterik up top and also the red asterik that appers over the messages icon), so sometimes i might go 1-2 hours before I realize I have a new email. When I open the messages folder the email is THERE it just looks like it has already been checked. Instead of the yellow "sealed envelope" icon next to it, it has the light blue "open envelope" icon, even though I never checked it. It's obviously not a free space issue because the mail is THERE, its like the blackberry opens it for me.

Has ANYbody had this happen?? It is very irritating, i LOVE this new smartphone, just would like to fix this minor issue.

What theme are you using?

I am using Titanium Zen Bottom Dock right now, but I have tried all themes and it does it on all of them

It's the first I've heard of this problem. Have you tried removing the battery and see if the problem continues? If it does, I recommend upgrading your OS. What OS version are you running? Look in Options >About.

Do you keep you BB in a OEM case with the sleeper magnet? If not then the issue may be as simple as when an email is received it is automatically opened, but then when the screen times out the message is closed. I have noticed this when my BB is not in the case; when in the case in sleep mode (via sleeper magnet) the message is not automatically opened and therefor remains in unread state until I open it.
