Deleting SERVICE BOOKS??

How do you delete your service books?

JSanders 09-01-2008 11:34 PM

options > advanced > Service Books.

Select your choice > menu > delete.

Look here for great and helpful info: BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ

When I go there and hit the menu button (the BB button) the only choices I get are 'view' and 'close.' If I view, still can't delete. Hmmm.....

Wirelessly posted

Is this a personal BB or through work? Sounds like there may be an IT policy at play here; they can restrict this sort of activity. Normally it is just as simple as JS has indicated.

I don't recall any policy that doesn't let the user delete a service book. Maybe I just have never seen it.

No - it's a personal one. Really freaky too. The little red asterisk that used to come up on the globe when I have an e-mail disappeared too....uh-oh - hope this ain't some 4.5.0.77 freaky thing.

Any other way to get rid of the service books other than to just resend them?

hmmm - answered it myself...seems it will now work for me. this is kinda spooky...

Cool... I've never seen service books that could not be deleted, either.

Good luck.

On VZW - BIS, had the same "problem", could view service books but had no option to delete (running .66). I just went into Blackberry account and resent them without removing "old" books. It worked, I now have HTML working!

I'm embarrassed to ask but what, where and why is a "service book" ? Don't beat me up to bad.

JSanders 09-04-2008 09:30 AM

Where, scroll up.

Why? Service Books on your BlackBerry enable various services to be rendered to your BlackBerry, such as email configurations, the browser, and some instant messaging applications.

OK, why would I want to delete one?
