Default Searching for best holster!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

I need a new phone NOW, so I just bought a Curve from eBay. If and when the Bold comes out (I'm hearing 10/2 now?), I'm sure I'll upgrade, but in the meantime...

I used to have an 8700. I used the holster that came with the phone and loved it. The phone faced inward to protect it. Does anyone know where I can get a comparable clip/holster for the Curve? I've searched eBay (all their holsters seem to have the phone facing outward) and the BB site (which doesn't seem to have a holster, only cases) with no success.

Thanks!

I too have to admit the Otterbox is a fantastic piece of protection equipment. I didn't think I was going to like it because of the bulk and weight. Unless you get hit by a truck while walking down the street text messaging or fall in a pool of water, I dont think you could damage the curve while it's the Otterbox. Perfect for drunken phone handling!!

It's a two piece case that snaps together over the device. Then the entire assembly slips into a form fit silicone jacket.

It is also supplied with a clear keyboard and screen protector which I didn't use.

I have the seidio holster and it is fantastic. Even has the magnet to lock the device when holstered.

Cool

Otterbox has more protection than any other. Got one off Amazon, brand new for $32, included shipping.

The problem with the Otterbox is that I would no longer be able to just drop my BB into it's charging cradle. The Otterbox case covers up the charging contacts.

As far as protection goes, there is a point reached where more is not really better. The Otterbox might have better protection, but the Seidio case is less bulky and has provided protection for my phone from numerous drops onto garage floors, tile floors, etc. Even once where I dropped it onto a tile floor and a passerby accidentally kicked it after it hit the floor. It slid along the floor into a wall. End result was zero damage, not even a scuff.

I have found that I really don't need to keep my phone in a relatively builky and overbuilt case. The Seidio case works very well for me, and I'm still able to drop my phone into it's charging cradle on my nightstand without taking it out of it's case.

The problem with the Seidio case is eventually the little corner tabs holding the two halves together will crack and fail. There's just too much tension at the corners of the case and the tabs are not "meaty" enough. If you do battery pulls often, the case will fail. I went through two Curve cases, my wife went through two with her Treo 680. And we were very gentle when doing the case separations. She now uses the Seidio clip with a silicone skin for fit. I went with the Otterbox.

The Seidio case is a nice design...but needs a little improvement. the Otterbox is a bit more bulky, but that fits my big hands better anyway...and I welcome the protection.

I just purchased the otterbox. This looks exactly like what I have been looking for. Also got it on Amazon for a cheaper price.

I think you are good with either. one offers more protection, the other sleeker. I went with the seidio myself, but strongly considered the otterbox. If I worked in more of an industrial/outdoor setting, i would have gone with otterbox. Because I am a suit, the seidio looked better.
