Last I checked, September has 30 days in it. Maybe ask again in October.

Good thing that it isn't "being released in February". That would screw up everyone.

Well, I just called T-Mobile to find out when they would be making Os 4.5 available to its customers and they don't even have a ballpark date yet. The status is that they are "waiting on approval from RIM for T-Mobile to use the software".

Anyone that you "called" would have no idea, even if it was coming out next week. They don't wait for approval from RIM. It's still undergoing testing by TMobile. My guess is RIM would like them to use it ASAP.

Errr. Welcome Caribou. I see this is your first post. Stick around and read up. You'll likely find that most people on here don't put much stock in what the carriers tell you.

If you want a "real" answer, you're more likely to get it here.

Nope. We can do more than that. We don't need TMobile to test. Load it from another carrier. I've been testing it myself since last October!

Hmmm.... Maybe I will go ahead and do just that! I've been reading up on loading it from another carrier and, since my toy is brand new and I've got lots of learning to do, I've been admittedly nervous that I'd "brick" my phone (see? I'm learning the terminology! LOL!). Since I know you all are right about not putting stock in anything a carrier rep has to say, I think I'm gonna give it a shot!

If you do load it on a T-Mobile phone, from another carrier, will the T-Mobile specific things, such as My Faves be there?

A friend of mine wants me to upgrade her 8100 but she loves MyFaves and doesn't want to lose it. She wants the upgrade so she can shoot videos with her BB.

Yes, MyFaves will still be there. They may not refresh properly from the device but logging into the TMobile site and setting them up again from there will fix any problems.

There is no video recording on the 8100.

Not even with 4.5?

Oh well, she'll live. She wants a Thunder anyway. :p

No, there is no video recording on the 8100. OS 4.5 doesn't add video recording on the 8100.

The last I heard about the 4.5 release from AT&T is mid September. I also read this on Gizmodo site. Which also says AT&T is going to release the update about Mid-September.
