Default ATTN: Software Update will not work with XP Service Pack 3!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

So I spent 2 days and swapped 1 phone to realize that I could not complete upgrade to 4.5 on Curve 8330 due to Service Pack 3 on my system.

What was happening is that SP3 does not detect some of the hardware of the blackberry, driver issue!
I've seen this on other units (i'm pc tech by day). Say audio won't load on a computer, pull SP 3 and audio driver is good!

SO I loaded 4.5 on my macbook running XP and SP2, loaded fine No problems!

I was about to chuck this thing, I tried it all. JL_cmder, /no vjm, etc...etc...

Maybe this could help someone!

Tony

Really I did not have any problems on my XP PC, now Vista is a different story.

Interesting. I have XP SP3 installed and have no problems updating the BlackBerry.
Actually, I don't have problems with Vista either.

What version of Desktop Manager are you using?

No problems with the 4.5 upgrade and I am running a Dell with XP service pack 3. It just took a long long time for everything to do. Keep trying, it will eventually work some how or the other.

Same here, no problems. Both on XP SP3 or Vista.

No problems either. Perhaps change the title to something less dramatic?
