Angry New Curve owner needs help!!

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new curve and am hitting some issues and need help!!
1: My wifi will not connect to my wireless network at home.
It says cannot connect to network after finding the router with no problem.

2: My address book is duplicated on handheld after synch with outlook(contacts). I am unsure how to rectify?

Please help, especially the duped bit!!!!!

I would backup what you want off the BlackBerry wipe it and then re-sync it. I might also reconfigure the first sync 1 way to just send from Outlook to the BlackBerry and re-configure the sync for 2 way and run the sync to make sure it all goes well.

Not sure about the Wi-Fi I don't have a Wi-Fi berry :(

Is your WiFi network hidden or is it using a security key? Depending on the version of the security key it may not connect

So have you connected at one point in time or not at all? Which router are you using?

As for contacts...take the oppourtunity to clean up your contacts. Delete the extras from your Outlook then resynch your BB and the extra will go away. I went through and cleaned up my contacts about a week ago so that I could synch them and I found it much easier to find things on not only my BB but on my Outlook.

Is there a way to update the firmware? I know on my Linksys I had to upgrade the firmware to get it to connect..I have found out that my 8320 doesn't connect right away with my router that I have to give it a few before it connects

Connect to your Linksys through a local connection (hard wire) and goto the web interface. Pay attention to your web interface as there is information regarding the current version of firmware your running. Goto the Linksys site and menu your current model type and compare it with your current version number you will find in the web interface. You may have to inspect the underside of your router to see the version and model type. Normally, the web interface will be on 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (default on many linksys)
Download the new bin and run the update through the web interface.

Hope this helps you...

H.

Well in your case look on Orange Livebox's website and see if they have a firmware update on your router....log into your router like you are going into the setup (have you done that before) and there should be a tab or somewhere that shows the firmware version. Check to see if it's lower than the newest one if there is a firmware update. And from there it should be fairly easy.

But if they do have a firmware update then make sure your connected to your router through Cat5 cable (actual network cord) and not the wifi...cause it will disconnect the wifi to update and still needs the connection with your computer
