Default 8300 restarts during/after call

I gave my girlfriend my Curve after I got the iPhone 3G (yes, I miss the BB, but the iPhone still seems pretty capable)...anyway...

It had the 4.2 OS on it, and calls were starting to sound really garbled and just not clear..and recently she told me that it would just shut off in the middle of a phone call (usually with me) and wouldn't turn back on until it was plugged in. She and I have tried pulling the battery, resetting, etc.. it still does this.

Last night, I walked her through the installation of the 4.5 OS (kinda jealous I never got to use it), hoping this would solve the issue. Now the calls sound clearer, but she said it still resets itself during calls.

The phone is out of warranty, from at&t, never dropped hard, never wet, and always been in a skin with an invisibleshield on it.

Any idea on what the problem could be?

Try wiping it before installing the new OS. There could be some junk form before still loaded on.

thanks for the replies. I'm trying to keep this simple for her, and using jl_cmdr to wipe it fully might be a little over her head. I'd do it for her, but we're a few hundred miles apart :/

installed are ideamatrix, todomatrix, and jivetalk. thats it. and she doesnt even use jivetalk since she has no data plan.

I can have her check free memory, but I think its pretty good.

I know this is an old post, but I found a resolution, so hopefully it helps others.

After using jl_cmdr to fully wipe the phone and upgrading it to the latest 4.5os (at the time), removing the microSD card, swapping SIM cards...it still happened. Next up, new battery. found one on amazon.com for under $10, brand new, authentic battery

voila!

the phone no longer randomly restarts or powers down during calls. Now the phone is like new new battery, new OS... all her friends with the Curve are jealous because she has the new OS and they dont :p

Wirelessly posted

When I was reading I would have mentioned new battery. If it didn't turn on after it died then it has no power. Now if you just had a red light then that's where the other steps would have came in

I have this problem as well.(8320) Tried a different battery that a tmobile rep gave me, didn't help.
I had 4.5.0.55 but not the tmobile version so I installed the tmobile version 4.5.0.81 and the problem persists.
I first noticed the problem after my BES admin (exchangemymail) enabled "html email" and which I enabled it in my email settings. Everything else has been the same with the phone. I did not run the
jl_cmdr to wipe prior to updating OS. Do you think that may really help? Any other suggestions?
