hi guys-

I have been trying to take the IT policy off my phone for a while now and I have gone through the following steps.

1) wipe
2) upgrade to 4.5 OS
3) resettofactory
4) wipe again
5) restart DM 4.3
6) downgrade to 4.2 OS

Now, everything is fine until I restart DM. As soon as I hook it up, the red lock for the firewall (only) comes back. I have tried to uninstall the DM and all OSes. I have tried restarting my computer at each step. But, I get stuck at this step every time.

Suggestions? I have been working on this for two days now.

Is your DM re-activating your device on the BES? That would be why.

Check options>security options>general>scroll to bottom and see if there is anything listed under policy, or if it says *no services*

it says no Services. I know that the policy is gone, but for some reason, like you said, DM keeps putting the policy back on there. Suggestions?

It sounds to me like you have a policy.bin on the computer you are using. Was the computer you're using used for the old method of IT policy removal? If so, you will get the new blank policy each time. Remove the policy.bin from the computer.

how do I remove it? through the regedit?

UPDATE: I have been successful in getting the DM to start without putting the policy back in place. Now: I am working on downgrading the OS to 4.2. I will post again to let you know what happens.

Why are you downgrading to 4.2?
