Default Data connection drops sporadically

I have a Curve 8300 w/ AT&T service and BIS. Periodically and seemingly randomly (maybe a couple times a week) the data "shuts off". By this, I mean that new emails don't show up on the device. Also, if I open the web browser and try to access any pages, it will just say "Connecting..." and be unable to open the site. (Also, applications re unable to connect.)

A simple battery pull resolves the issue. When the device restarts, all my messages download and I can access sites/apps.

Any idea how to begin debugging the issue? It's just annoying because I don't find out it's not connected until it's "too late"...

I had this issue for a while too. It was quite annoying. I fixed it by upgrading my OS.

I think I have the latest 4.2 version of the OS that AT&T provides. Did you install a non-AT&T OS to fix it?

I actually had the issue on Verizon. I did install an OS that wasn't released by Verizon.
