I'm new to using the bb and I have some probably usual questions. The FAQ didn't seem to cover it so I thought I'd post here...

Got the 8310 (GPS one) in July
Thanks to the salesman for not mentioning the bold (sigh) oh well.

Been using the basic functions and they appear ok.

Had a problem that the connection dies and reconnects a lot. Phoned the provider, not much help from them.

So things that could help me:

1) the downloading appears to be slow, dial up even, on GPRS. Read edge is faster, so is there some reason why I cannot use that? or at least have the choice?
2) When sending emails via gmail, I get the mail I send plus back as a read mail. Getting to be annoying but I guess this is a problem with the way gmail works. Is there a way to not have this?
3) I've upgraded the desktop and the os (200mb and 97mb d/l). The video capture bit works and is great. Genereal upgrades are good. However I stil cannot watch yout tube vids. is this cause my connection is uh crap? or am I missing something? Just comes up with error playing in the top right after a big error box. the LGLG log has :w MBF Event - ---handling: PAUSE_Event
or - +++ handling: PAUSE_Event... either way it isn't playing.
4) I had BB Maps icon on before I upgraded. It worked - slowly ;) anyway after the upgrade the applications list says its there but the icon is no longer available. Any ideas how to fix?

1. If you have GPRS instead of EDGE that is a tower issue and nothing you can do until they upgrade the tower you're using.
2. GMail Sent Items
3. GPRS is way to slow for YouTube. EDGE is almost too slow.
4. BBMaps doesn't work on many networks. It's service book controlled now.

Seems Orange isnt working this morning. Email setup goes to a page without content and dies. The wrw(dot)blackberry(dot)orange(dot)co(dot)uk goes to an empty page and the bis link from google to orange retuns no page so I will try that bis email setting when I can get back into it.
