Thumbs down more things that should work, but dont...

os 4.5

testing a few things and writing documentation for the helpdesk:

was on a bes, used javaloader to "resettofactory", restored backup.

issues:

1) security options says "secure GC enabled" even though content protection is NOT enabled (content compression IS) and no password is set.

2) memory cleaning is enabled and has a little red lock next to it and cant be disabled.

3) s/mime package is installed, and an email signing certificate IS on the device however when sending an email there is no "sign" option on the "using" dropdown menu like BB claims there should be.

can anyone shed some light on any of these issues?

edit: it appears that installing the s/mime package installs memory cleaner, but would it also lock it and not allow it to be disabled? im thinking yes, maybe. would the s/mime package also make "secure gc enabled" display on the security menu? maybe. but of course i still cant actually USE s/mime and a certificate to sign an email. is anyone else able to sign emails?

update: removed the s/mime package and now i can disable/enable memory cleaning, but STILL it says "secure gc enabled". anyone have a clue what this means? the BB site (amazingly) only says that this appears when content protection is enabled... but its NOT.
