Default Work Email

Please Login to Remove!

So, I got this Curve and it had an IT policy. After days of work, I got the policy completely off (yay!) and am trying to set up my work email through the TMobile website. Now, I used to have the Pearl and yes, I was able to connect my work email through the set-up email link on the website (just enter email and password and you are set). Now, I am unable to do so. I AM NOT USING THE BES. I am trying to go through the Outlook Web Access that allows me to check my work email through on the computer, but through the BB, it gives me the following errors:

Cannot connect to server.
OR
Email account could not be validated.

I talked to Tech Support at my company and they said there are no restrictions for the Outlook access with the BB but there are with the BES (which is fine bc I am not trying to do the BES anyway).

Suggestions?

You may need to go into advanced settings on the T-mobile BIS site and manually enter the URL for the OWA server.

Are you able to setup other email accounts, like yahoo or gmail?

I would say that there is an issue with the OWA server. Maybe you can find someone else with a BB and try to set it up on theirs. That way you can isolate if it's the BB or the server.

So you made it to the screen that asks for the OWA URL, user name, password, email address & mailbox name? Did you confirm that everything you specified was correct with IT?

yep - sure did. Turns out the BIS is not compatible with the exchange 07 server. Any ideas on a work-around or fix?

That's T-Mobile's fault. The latest BIS works just fine with Exchange 2007.
