Default Trackball question?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

My niece has a Pearl, and her trackball changes colors! It's really cool. She says she didn't do it, a friend of hers "played" with it for a bit, and set the trackball to light up in all different colors.

If you all have seen this, can it be done for the Curve?

No it can not be done with the curve. The Pearl has different colored LEDs under the trackball. Only the 8100 device has this.

We all know that with the right parts and a soldering iron, it can be done (John Clark and JSanders, please DON'T beat me)

But Mr Conyers is correct, it cannot be done (without seriously remodeling the Curve).
