You first need to determine WHY it's crashing. Once you know that, you can fix it or prevent it.

What activities make it crash? What third party apps have you loaded? What features of the OS have you excluded?

There are way too many unknown variables in a generic question like the one you ask.

If you avoid turning it on I guarantee it will never crash. :)

It seems like the main issue with 4.5 is files on the media card that conflict for some reason. If the device reboots over and over it's likely due to that. You just need to make a backup of your media card, reformat it and then put the files back one folder at a time so you can narrow down the file that's causing it.
