Default Address Book Icon gone

Please Login to Remove!

Some how I deleted my address Icon. I've check to see if its hidden and its not. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it back? I can access it from the phone, but that is a bit of a hassle sometimes, especially when I just want to email someone. Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

Did you move it into a folder? Or did you change your Theme recently?

^^ditto Juwaack.

Tip if you are just emailing someone, start typing their name in the TO or CC field... you will be given choices and can choose the address book recipient there.

Default thanks for the welcome

I'm a newbie, and I was using the blackberry menu button and somehow just deleted it I guess. Do I have to reinstall the OS. I've upgraded to 4.5.0 I think. I don't know how to check. I just downloaded one from crackberry I think. I have everything backed up. I've checked all the folders and its not there either. I just don't know what I've done. Thanks

Quick update. I notice it's not in my ATT them anymore, it is in other themes when I change to them. Any idea how to get it back? Should I download OS from ATT and downgrade then upgrade back to 4.5 sumtin??

You can't delete it using the Menu icon.

You probably hid it. From the main screen, press the Menu button and click Show All. Do you see it now (if it's hidden it will be a very transparent icon).

You can't delete the Address Book icon. You can move it and you can hide it. And you could have moved it to a folder on your screen (applications, or such).

Nope tried the show all, and it's not a hidden icon or greyed out. It does show up in other themes tho. Just not my defualt AT&T theme. I must have done something to make it disappear. I've grown used to the ATT them because it's really simple. I checked all the folders too. It's just not there anymore. ACK!!

It may be a theme-dependent icon. If it's there when you switch themes, then the icon/application has not been deleted.

That is odd, though, that it wouldn't be on the AT&T theme.

Do you think if I downloaded 4.2 somtin from ATT and downgraded back to it, that it would come back? Then upgraded to the latest 4.5 I'd be ok?

Biskra;

(sorry, I can not stand the At&t bloated theme. *IMHO*.)

It sounds like you moved it somewhere if you can't see it when you use Show All.... ??

I found in a yahoo search that someone reset there Theme by going to options>themes> menu button reset theme to default. And it worked. I now have my address book back. YAY!!!!! Thanks all for trying to help. I have learned alot from this site, and you have all been great.

You can always access it via the homescreen shortcut 'A', regardless... try this:

Thanks JSanders. Those are some helpful shortcuts for me. I've got so much to learn. I thought I'd hate the blackberry that it would be to much phone for me. But I'm in love with the little devil. And I still haven't even play a game on it yet. I think I'll try out brick breaker see how it is. and maybe some others. Thanks again all. I'll keep on reading and hope to gain much knowledge.

Thanks for the update. I never had any of our users do this so it is good to know.
Since you figured out how to hide your address book, you get the prize!
(just kidding)
