Default 8320: Memory Lost, but Not Recovered After Playing Music - Does 4.5 Resolve This? - 09-07-2008, 11:50 AM

I was planning to wait until T-Mo puts their stamp of approval on 4.5, but playing music on my Curve, though it works, is frustrating for these two reasons:

In the media player app itself, clicking the BlackBerry button and attempting to use the trackball (while music is playing) is very difficult due to the performance lag. It seems to be far more CPU/memory intensive than it should be.

After playing music or videos, closing the app, and then checking free file space, it seems there's a lot of memory used that isn't recovered. I've already cleaned off unused themes, apps, etc.

Does 4.5 do a better job of memory management? And, would .81 be the preferred release to install on the 8320?

Thanks!
