Default I would like the email LED to blink longer

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I recently converted to a BlackBerry Curve (Sprint Branded) from a Palm Treo 755p.
So far I really like the Curve.
I have one item I haven't been able to solve.
The red LED blinks when a new email arrives as I want but it stops
blinking after some period of time (10 minutes ?).
I would like it to continue to blink until I actually open the Email
application but haven't found anywhere this is controllable.
Is my BB acting normal? Should my LED blink forever until I
open the Email application?
Thanks,
J

Look at BBAlerts , it is customizable for the LED.
Check it out for a free trial at handango.com.

So my BB is performing properly? LED alerts shut off after a while?

Yes your BB is acting normal. The light stops blinking after about 15 minutes.

I use BBAlerts to solve that issue and you also get to assign colors to different alerts.

I got "BB Alerts" to keep my LED blinking which was my requirement.

Can anyone with BB Alerts and a "BB Curve 8330" confirm:

1) The colored Trackball LED is NOT supported

2) The option to test/play the audio is not available in "BB Alerts/Options"?

The the colored trackball LED is definitely not supported because the Curve doesn't have colored LEDs under the trackball like the Pearl does.

Ditto that. Only the 8100 pearl I think has it.

1) Previous posters are correct. The colored LED is not possible with the Curve.

2) The option to test/play the audio is available. Go to BB Alerts / Options, then click the menu key. You should get a small popup with the Audio Test option available there. When you select the Audio Test option it will run tests for the audio, vibrate, and buzzer. The buzzer is not supported on the 8330. I don't know about other models.

I don't have the buzzer either on the 8310. All other tests pass.
