Default os 4.5 not updating on 8330

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,
I have been away from the blackberry community for quite a while because of some nonsense. anyway, i have loaded the 4.5 desktop and deleted the vendor file. when i attach my blackberry to the pc no prompting of upgrade os...
i also must add the on initial loading of the desktop 4.5. my blackberry had the white screen with the 2pc's linking and then froze. as soon as i pulled the blackberry off and then re attached the phone to the pc it did not prompt me to do the initial setup which never correctly finished. could that be why my os was never loaded correctly. i tried to delete the desktop and the 4.5 os off my pc and the re installed it again and same thing happened.. i hope its not because im truely impatient and all i had to do is just wait for the initial setup to complete that im having this problem..

any help would be greatly appreciated and if it is because im an impatient person dont hesitate to just say it.. i didnt realize that it can take up to 20 min or so... keep in mind i just got my bb so there is not much to back up.. mostly just contacts.... thanks in advance

You need to follow the instructions EXACTLY.

In particular, pay attention to this part ...

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
