Ive had my blackberry (curve) for about 2 months or so, and ive started to notice that when I'm sending and getting texts, my phone takes FOREVER, to open and send them. Ive tried almost everything. Its not a battery pull, its not memory,its not the theme, its not the "ALT+L+G" thing. Iv'e deleted all my texts and set the memory keeping to 15days which is lowest. Ive restarted it and it wont speed up. I have noticed that it is really only noticeably slow with one person I talk to.. is it bc i talk to him too much? or is my phone just messed up? Any sugguestions? :/

I sort of doubt that is because it is one person you text ith a lot. At options > Status, what is your listed File Free?

It wouldn't make sense to be only happening with one person you are texting. It may appear to you that way as you probably text this person more than anyone else according to what you stated.

Do you have any 3rd party applications running. Is it slow right after a battery pull or does it progressively get slower?

If all else fails, you could always try an OS upgrade. And welcome to the forums.

See, i didnt think it made much since either.. but idk what else it could be.. and no every other application is turned off. and it is slow before and after the battery pull..

Not ridiculous at all. We were all beginners at one point.

OS upgrades are free. Go to Options > About and see what version you are running. Should be 4.3.x.x or so.

Follow the steps in that link to the letter and you should be fine.

Remember to do a backup before.

the only thing is.. my dad wont pay for internet on my phone... so.... is that going to be a problem? haha

You don't have a data plan?

You don't need a data plan to upgrade your OS. You need to download BOTH the OS found in that link and Desktop Manager to your PC. From there connect your Blackberry to your PC and DM should recognize it. No data from the device is used in this process.

I don't know if it will or not. It will add more functionality to your BB like HTML email and Doc 2 Go. You don't have a data plan, so you really won't get too much out of that. I am not sure if 4.3 has voice recording or not. I know that is in 4.5.

From the sounds of it, you have checked everything else. This is worth a shot. If it doesn't you can always revert back to your current OS.

I have the same exact problem with mine. Slow text sending only to one person I talk to a lot. If I talk to someone else in between, it works normal for them. Its a real pain.
