Continuous hourglass
 

Ok, I downgraded from .55 to .52 and now when the phone went thru a reboot it just sits there with an hour glass, nothing is happening, the DM says it's attempting to reconnect but of course the 8310 is doing nothing. What is the noob to do? much help needed.

I've pulled the battery and let it sit, but it still just does the hour glass thing.

I've tried taking out the sim and that doesn't work either. Have I bricked my New Berry? :-(

Was it in the process of loading .52 while the hourglass was spinning? That process can take 45 mins or longer. I have seen users on here say it took over an hour.

You just have to be patient. DON'T DISCONNECT during the OS install.

Try to wipe with JL_Cmder and load the OS again.

Ok, got it figured out. My sim is shot. tried my wifes sim in the phone and it comes up just fine, and when I put mine it hers it just sits at a white screen on her nokia. Off to ATT to get a new sim and 25bux down the drain. live and learn.

Odd coincidence that your SIM went bad as you downgraded your OS. Glad you got everything figured out!

Most AT&T corporate stores don't charge for replacement SIMs any more. I know they used to, but I have replaced 3 or 4 in the past year or so and never paid for one. You can always argue that you need one from them since they removed the new SIM from the box when you got your phone. (They do do that).
