Blackberry Messenger problems on 4.5.77

Updated my 8330 and now I keep getting a message stating I have upgraded to a different blackberry and I need to notify contacts or lose them. Needless to say I have lost contacts like 10x.

Restoring backup brings them back, but if you pull the battery it happens again.

Any ideas?

I think if you remove the BBM and then replace it, it should solve the problem.

Hi,

i have the same issue with my BB8310 and a collegue with BB8800. We both updated from 4.2 OS to 4.5. I also tried removing / reinstall the BB Messanger.
This don't worked for me (n).

I read in another forum that it would help to wipe the device completely.... I will try this when i got my BB9000 :-) Hopefully there the issue will be solved.

regards
Max

This is driving me insane. Could it be that the version hast been Verizon approved yet? It happens way to often

No it's not VZW I have the same OS and don't have any problems, let me search for this one.

I agree Zerog, JS will most likely have the answer. Since it's related to contacts I remember something about the issue arising if the contact name has special characters in it, like smiles or winks. Do the names of the contacts contain these? If so try remove and see if the contacts then stick around.
