Default profiles(phone only)

Please Login to Remove!

can someone please explain to me why I can only hear audio from recieved messages when I have my profile set to (loud)?
but then all my ringtones convert to a preloaded ring...So therefore I have to go back to (phone only) to get my custome ringtones back...
Is there a setting I can leave it on to be able to hear the audio of the text message and keep my same custome ringtones????

thanks if you can help me out

if you go to your profile > advanced options, you can edit what ringtones are assigned to each profile specifically

on the options list, you can set ringtones for each type of message you receive.
SMS, voicemails, emails, level 1 messages (AIM, BBM, etc), calls, etc. Each kind of notification that has to do with someone contacting you can be personalized

thats correct...but the only way I am able to hear the audio from a recieved txt message is to change my profiles to normal or loud...but when I do this my custom ringtones and txt tones are set back to a basic pre set ringtone....the only way to keep my custome ringtones is to keep my profile on phone only......

you can "edit" each profile, when you go to advanced options, highlight the profile you want to edit, in this case you need to edit 'loud' and 'normal', once highlighted, push the BB button and go to 'edit' that way you can make sure each audio ringtone is set to where it needs to be

When I am at home I like the personal tones, but when I'm out or at work I want them to be a standard ring. Is there a way to switch back and forth that's relatively easy?

you can set a profile for each of your needs.
for example, you can set "phone only" to allow to ring with the tones you want while at work, and set your personalized ringtones on a different profile like "loud".

makes it easier, so if you were to do that, simply set it to the 'phone only' profile while at work and set it to 'loud' when you're at home. That way you will know all ringtones are preset to where they need to be
