Default 8320 v.4.2.2.180 Gmail install stoppage

Please Login to Remove!

This is my first phone, even though I'm very tech saavy. During the install of GMail (not download), the install stops at about 30%. I've restarted (soft and hard) , deleted, and attempted reinstallation. I've even installed the main google mobile app. and have tried installing Gmail then, with the same results.

Any work arounds???

funny you should mention this...
a friend of mine has an 8320 without a blackberry plan, so i've been trying to get the new gmail app on the phone so she can at least use some email...
and im experiencing the same problem youre describing...

its just occuring to me now, but maybe changing permissions for the app before it tries its 'install' routine could help...
