Default Disappearing Calendar Events

Please Login to Remove!

I just realized that after nearly a year with my AT&T 8310, the device is deleting my calendar events after about three weeks, even though I have set the device to keep all calendar appointments "forever" (Options->Keep Appointments->Forever). Does anyone know why this is happening and have a way of stopping/fixing it?

Are you syncing your BB with a PC, check your memory free.

There was a good discussion of this very subject just yesterday. Check this thread and see if anything there works for you. It discusses why keeping calendar entries 'forever' on your blackberry is not a good idea, and offers solutions to the more common reasons for 'missing' calendar entries.

Thanks for link to the other thread. My problem, however, is that I don't sync my BB with Outlook, and all of the responses in that thread seem to point to retrieving the appointments in Outlook. So I don't know if I have any way of retrieving my past appointments or setting the device to keep my old appointments. I have the latest Desktop Software (v4.5) and am running the original OS for the device (4.2) -- I'm waiting for the official non-beta version of OS 4.5 before I upgrade. Any other ideas out there?

Keeping old appointments on your BB is not necessarily bad... but...

The bottom line is that there is only so much room there... when you install apps, that takes memory... the OS does have 'memory leaks' (all of 'em do), and some third party apps are worse than others... when the BB senses it's low on memory, it starts deleting stuff - phone logs, messages, emails, calendar entries, etc. Even if that never becomes an issue for you, eventually you will have more stuff than will fit in memory... and stuff happens - not having a backup is not good.
