I've searched for this question, but couldn't find the answer anywhere, so I'll try here

I recently bought an "unlocked" AT&T 8310 on E-Bay and I plan to wipe the phone clean with JL_cmder and re-install the OS. I will be using the phone on the Rogers network.

My question is:

what happens to the unlock status when you wipe a phone and reinstall the OS, or upgrade the OS? Can they become "re-locked"? Should I use the latest Rogers curve software or the AT&T software listed on blackberry's provider site?
