OS 4.5 on a Tmobile curve? I see alot of complaints that it made things worse. I really like some of the features the 4.5 offers but if it will ruin my good Curve with 4.2, I'd rather not. So whats the verdict??

Never heard of a ruined Curve with OS 4.5.

Mine's fine.

Anyone else?

There is nothing wrong with the latest versions of OS 4.5. If you do have the unlikely problem then make a posting. Lotsa folks here who enjoy helping out.

As far as ruining a Curve... well I don't see how that could happen. If you are one of the few who don't like the 4.5 OS, or have a problem with it, then revert back to whichever OS you want. There is nothing permanent about it.

thanks guys. I think I'll do it and check it out. Will I have to reinstall my current apps like Opera, google maps, etc.....?

The upgrade process will back up and then restore everything.
Some applications (like BB Weather) do not back up their data, but the apps will come over fine.
FOllow the instructions to the letter and you will be fine.

You won't have to reinstall any apps, but you will have to re-register some of them. BBLight is a good example of this. Make sure that you have the registration codes saved somewhere handy so it won't be a problem for you.

Your theme settings, etc, should all remain the same. In fact, when I upgraded from .66 to .77 I had to check just to make sure that it had done something.

Probably the most common mistake that people make when upgrading is not allowing your device enough time to install everything. Your Berry might sit for 20 minutes and look like it's not doing anything, but don't unplug it. That will just create a bit of hassle and you may end up having to wipe the device and start over from scratch. Just be patient and let it do it's thing. Follow the instructions PRECISELY and you will be fine.

I installed 4.5.0.77 on my Curve last Friday, pretty painless, nothing seems broken and I have lost no functionality what so ever. Docs To Go it awesome to have my BlackBerry and HTML is a decent plus (Better then what we had before).

Wait for the carrier?? Why?? Updated my VZW to .66 a couple of weeks ago, no problems at all. HTML did not work at first, reset service books now it works. I'm loving the upgrade.

TMO Curves come with a media card? How did you replace it after it was fried?

But, like I said before - If you are one of the few who don't like the 4.5 OS, or have an insurmountable problem with it, then revert back to whichever OS you want. There is nothing permanent about it.

The vast majority of people like the upgrade and have no problems with it. If you do have a problem then make a post here describing it. There are a lot of good people who are willing to help solve problems.
