Default Where to locate Device Password

Please Login to Remove!

For some reason, every time I try to connect to Desktop Manager, it asks me for a device code and as well on the computer. Where can I locate this code?

Thank you.

If the device is prompting for a password, you cannot locate that anywhere except the brain of the individual that set it.

I don't recall setting a password though. No other way?

True ^^, and since this seems to be the "theme" question of the month around the Forum lately:

--There is no default password, it is whatever it was set to be.
--You can't change the password until you know that one.
--You can't get around it... until you enter it wrong ten times at which time your device will wipe itself of all personal settings, address book, calendar, messages, etc.

I'd start with any teenage kids in the house... if you didn't have a password on the device, then you wouldn't need one to set a new one. Perhaps someone in your household set one to mess with you. You can't do a backup without the password, and you will lose all data if you can't get it entered properly before the max tries value (usually set to 10.)

No one has touched my BB. I am trying my hardest to try and remember when I set this password. Was it when I first got the phone? The only password that I set would be to lock my keypad. Now when I type that password into the phone when it asks for the device password, it works. But when I type that in the computer, it doesn't.

It's called a security feature. You'd love it if you needed it.

It is indeed the same password.

Caps lock? Num lock?

That's it. I type it in as if im thinking numbers, but I do not hit the Num key. So actually im typing random letters. I am on my last attempt right now and scared to try it again. Is it for SURE that when entering the correct code on the phone, nothing will happen? I type in something else and I got Incorrect Password. ...

Then disconnect it, and enter it on the device. This will reset your "tries" count if you enter it correctly there.

AND you might actually while you are on the device, change it to something simpler to recall.
