It was an option when I loaded it. I had to select it during loading through the manager but it is included in the package.

Here's a Snag-It view of the folder proving it's in there:

I'm using desktop manager 4.6 and i'm trying to install the .77 software and I get a fatal error during the comm part of the install. I've tried it 3 times and I have to uninstall the desktop software and reinstall it so it can recognize my phone. Anyone have any ideas why I'm getting this fatal error fault.

Default upgraded but doesnt show the latest version?? - 09-27-2008, 09:28 AM

i did the upgrade and went good but my screen shows the below:

v4.5.0.77 (platform 3.2.0.51)

is something wrong here or is this the latest and greatest version? Should it be Package Version: 4.5.0.101?

confused here.

That is not enabled by RIM yet. You can try and get no results.

Is your USB plugged to the rear USB of the PC mainframe--not a front port or a USB hub or a monitor port?

If it is, then try another USB port on the rear of the machine.

After installing .77 and deleting the vendor file, reboot your PC and then try it again. This happened to me on a few beta's and this fixed it.

How's this version from the .77 beta? Anyone notice any difference or improvements? Or is it the SOS ?

The error stated is usually connected to a faulty or low powered USB.

I wonder if the bluetooth issue got fixed?? Mine keeps disabling even though my headset is still on. And when I try to turn the headset on and off, I realize that the bluetooth has actually been disabled completely.

I'm going to try the led connectivity "on" trick. But I don't think it does much.

Do you recommend unistalling the current DM or just install the new one over the top?

You have to download the attachment it will then show up in your Docs to Go files.

I would say its a personal prefrence. If your happy with what you have and having the latest update isnt your thing then by all means stick with what you got.

I'm on Alltel and we're known for having crappy MMS support, however when I had the stock 4.3 on here, I was able to send/recv. MMS pictures and videos just fine. After upgrading to 4.5 (Even though HTML E-mail is nice!), I'm unable to receive any MMS.

How do I downgrade or revert to what I was running?

Thanks.

Said I had the beta. Lol. Definitely like to be on the bleeding edge, but right now I'm working a lot of hours (moreso than usual) and need my bb to be working at or near peak.

Ever since i've upgraded, now Sprint Software store doesn't recommend my device. I was going to buy iBerry theme, and now I can't buy it at all or find it at all. Suggestions?

had a crack at this one last night, geeees the download from blackberry site is slow. started the download at 9, had the files by 11:30, then started the upgrade and finally had it all up and running closer to 1am.

seems to have worked well, video camera works, html email is awesome.

i didn't gain too much extra speed though and we'll see how stability goes but no crashes so far.

all in all very happy! thanks to all the contributers to this thread for the info!

The issue I was experiencing earlier with Docs to Go not installing seems to have been due to a missed step on my part. I didn't delete the Vendor.xml file. I downgraded my OS and then installed 4.5 after deleting Vendor.xml and now I have Docs to Go.

I have another issue now...yay :S

Wasn't HTML e-mail supposed to be a part of this update? My e-mails look the same as always. Any help would be appreciated.

hey guys i have a quick ? for all you. I am about to do the upgrade following the precidure on the first page.

So I connected my BB to DM and it said that i do need an upgrade, but when the screen comes up to show the following update it shows that it is Blackberry 4.3 coree applications. Shouldnt that be 4.5.x or is that just the software on the phone its self?

Can someone clear this up for me?

HTML e-mail didn't work with mine either, until I resent my service books, after that, all worked fine.

Did any Telus users get this to work or is there any official word from Telus on availability of an official upgrade?

Has anyone tried sending a pic via Blackberry Messenger with 4.5? It's painfully slow to scroll through the list of names for some reason..

I don't know if you want to update one of the links in the start of this thread which says "1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. Get it here: " -- the link gives you access to 4.3 DM.
but the latest DM (4.6) is found here:
www blackberry com / Downloads /entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

sorry, I had to put spaces on the link.
