Try upgrading to .97. Most of the lag issues of .77 were fixed in this version. I can't post any links to the actual download on this forum, but if you go the the "Beta You than Me" area from the main page, you can see how to find it on your own. Personally, I think that .97 was a good improvement to .77.

Any chance you could tell us your PERSONAL experience on the new .97 compared to .77?

No. Sprint has not yet released a version of the 4.5 OS.

Blackberry just released a generic version of 4.5 that updates Sprint versions, just so you know. If destop manager doesn't update you automatically, try going here in IE:

This site tells me there's no new updates, but when I check the firmware, I'm running 4.3

Any advice? I currently run v. 4.3.0.124 on my BB from Alltel.

Have you tried different usb ports? Make sure you're not connecting to a hub of any kind. A USB port directly connected to the computer's motherboard is best.

After reading other users missing applications or not having texts coming in, I'll wait for an official Telus release. Any news on that?

An "official Telus release" will be no different than the OS posted here. You're waiting for no reason.

No news on an "official Telus release"

Hi everyone
New to BBF, have been using my pink BB 8330 Curve for about 3 months now and LOVE it.

Quick question, and it may have even already been asked - but was wondering if I click on either of those OS updates, does it matter who my carrier is? And I just follow the instructions below the two links? I am with Telus and not sure if it matters which link I use... any help would be great! Thanks for helping a BB noob out

As the first post says, it will work on ANY carrier's 8330. Just follow the instructions in the first post and you will be fine.

hello everyone,
hope this is the right spot. new to bb and this forum. have a 8330 that i just updated 4.3 to 4.5. have issues moving pictures in media and being slow updating screen. am thinking about going back to 4.3. need procedure for this. any help appreciated.

11/30/08 got it back to 4.3 by using procedure in blackberryFAQ. had to download from sprint site. verizon doesn't have it. now i don't have contact list entries but handheld says there are 80. did a battery pull reset and no change. browser was missing also.

11/30/08 downloaded latest 4.5 from verizon and installed. everything looks o.k. will live with this until an update fixes some issues.

i would say that the .97 version does fix some lag issues that were in the .77 version. i've noticed that my memory is better now and doesn't go down as quickly quickly as with .77.

Default Unable to install v4.5 update for Curve - 12-02-2008, 11:58 AM

I am having an issue that I can't seem to find any answers for. I have downloaded the update via Verizon's site, but I am unable to successfully install it on my PC. When the installation process gets to the "terms and conditions" part I get an error stating that another installation is in process. I've tried repairing and removing DM v4.3 but I get that same error every time. Any ideas? Thanks..

try up grading the DM to 4.7 I think you need DM 4.5 or higher to upgrade to 4.5os

You don't need ANY version of Desktop Manager to install a new OS. However, if you want to use DM, any version of DM from 4.2 SP2 on up to 4.7 will work.

Default v4.5 device software installed - 12-04-2008, 12:17 PM

After a lot of tinkering with startup programs, registry, and other issues I finally was able to get v4.5 device software installed on my BB Curve. This morning I tried to install the v4.7 desktop software and got the same error code 1500. I've tried the same tricks that eventually worked for the device software but no luck yet.

I currently have the 4.5.0.77 for the 8330 but I have trouble inputing Korean. I know this is a multilanguage OS so shouldn't I be able to input Korean? I have no trouble viewing Korean but just having trouble inputing.

Default Verizon 8330 - Operating System 4.5 - 03-05-2009, 01:25 PM

I had my IT head load the new operating system (4.5.0.77), however, I don't see any of the changes I was expecting (or really any at all) - primarily the ability to view e-mail in HTML. Does anyone know the answer?

Also make sure you enabled the html option in the actual email account on the BB.

Also, you'll need to resend your service books in order to get the newest service books that support the html.

Default Hammer + BB = relief. - 09-07-2009, 11:23 AM

I've had it with this BlackBerry POS. Can't update the OS with any method listed on this site, can't transfer media from my memory card to my computer because the Media Manager in the Desktop Manager is grey'd out..

Great product, RIM.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

I NEVER use DM to transfer files back and forth.

Sounds more like a PC problem than a device problem.

Perhaps you downloaded the version w/o Media Manager? RIM makes both product avail on their website...
