Vazqued1207, welcome to the forums, what operating system do you have on your phone? you need 4.5 to have video camera on your phone if that is what your asking about, go to top of 83xx series forum and you'll see 4.5 for your phone (8320) just follow the instructions and install the new os to your phone.

So Google maps is not currently available for OTA download from their website (Google) if this OS is installed.

On my brothers phone with the previous OS version he is able to see the Install Now icon for the OTA download and install option.

Does this version fix the BB Messenger contact loss problem? After a reset, your contacts are lost and it goes through the process of asking you to reconfirm the contacts?

Anyone with the older version who just upgraded...is it worth the upgrade or wait for the next one?

Default Japanese characters for BB 8310 - 10-12-2008, 05:17 PM

I am a Blackberry 8700 user in the Netherlands, but receiving JAPANESE characters as well.
Since I did not have any problem with receiving the Japanese characters I persuaded my Japanese colleagues to switch their mobile phones in a Blackberry
We obtained from our Polish provider (ERA) the Blackberry 8310 Curve !
Since it is not standard to receive the Japanese (or Chinese characters) I tried to find solutions to install the proper software. Via the forum I could get the 8310EastAsia_PB4.5.0._rel109_PL2.7.0.78_A_4.5.0.81 software which should provide this facility.
Unfortunately  No success!
Is there any possibility to obtain the correct software? I do not want to have the full OS in Japanese (should be in English) but be able to receive the e-mails with Japanese characters (instead of small black boxes).
I am starting to doubt if the 8310 any how will be abale to use these Japanese characters. I am getting to be felt tricked by the salesmen.

By the rest of the OS created by the above mentioned software is quit interesting.

FYI I did some reasearch and found out the Rogers has released this version for all their curve models. It sorts out the previous messaging issue....I had successfully done one download today.

Nobody knows. It depends on what version ATT releases. If ATT releases an older version that what you already have installed, why would you downgrade anyway?

You need to go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table>Menu>Register Now. Then log in at AT&T BIS Page and resend service books. After that check the options in email and you should then have the option to Enable HTML.

Uh oh, ran into a problem. I upgrade OS many times before but never ran into this issue. When it's going thru the app loader summary telling me what apps are being upgraded, I hit next and got this error...

"Invalid Configuration....The application "Browser" cannot be loaded because it requires the following application that is not available"

net.rim.blackberry.xml

Anyone know the solution???

Thanks for the response. No, just deleted the vendor.xml file and edited the blackberry.alx file to delete vendor themes

Well check the Java folder for net_rim_bb_browser.cod and net_rim_xml.cod are in there. When you downloaded the OS, was there any problems?

I just uninstalled and reinstall the OS and appears to be working fine now....I'm at my restoring device section now.
