I have a company 8310. Can my boss see the "content" of the text messages I send? I am on a Rogers Plan in Canada, or do they just see the phone number I text? ANy help would be appreciated.

Wait for someone familiar with BES to chime in but I beleive they can log SMS and PIN messages with the proper configuration. Bottom line if you are on a work system assume that everything you do can be logged.

So if you want to ask your Admin if they can read them... I wouldn't.

I went to the above linkand it looks like you can turn off the sms logging, but in the procedure, it says to "open blackberry manager" and i cannot find this on my phone. I called Rogers and they tell me that text or sms messages cannot be printed off. Taccording to them ,there server records all the messages that go across there system, but they have no way of printing these off. I was hopefully trying to find away with the above link on how to get into the "IT Policies" of my phone if that is available?

And how can I tell if the BES is version 4.1 or newer and the device is o/s code 4.1 or later? as per the above link?

Those are all items for your BES Admin, not the user.

You need to speak with your Admin. If you attempt any of this stuff or to remove the IT Policy from your corporate device, you will likely be reprimanded by your employer.

So is there no way of telling if they are being recorded or not? Sounds funny to walk up to your boss and ask "hey, are my text messages being recorded"?

It actually sounds funny you are doing something on your company phone you don't want your employer to read.

If it's a company paid for device, you should assume that they have access to everything.
