I am a Blackberry novice and have enjoyed using it for the past month.

Suddenly I have had battery issues - only staying on for about 8hrs standy with approx 1 hr talk time. I ordered a new battery but im having the same probem with the new one.

At the same time Im not receiving any emails - can anyone put me out of my misery?!!!

Have you read the user guide that came with the device?
Did you read the FAQ on here?
As for email, do you have a BB data plan?
Is your device properly provisioned by your carrier.
Have you resent service books?
Are you on BIS or BES?
Do you have "Leave Messages on Server" selected in you PC email client set up?
Were you receiving mail and it stopped all of a sudden? If so what did you do just prior to it stopping?

What applications do you have installed?
Which ones are running in the background?
What theme are you using?
What version of the 8800 handheld OS are you using?
