I download what was in the topic that is sticked for the 8310 Curve. When I went to install the new OS on my new phone the only language that I would need is English, but the software had it as English UK. Forgive my ignorance, but the last time I checked USA English is not the same thing as UK English. Am I wrong or did I download the wrong thing?

It is not necessary to stick to the carrier's official OS. The OP's profile shows they are on AT&T. I do not have an 8310, however I red through the stickied thread and haven't seen any mention of the English version that you mention. AFAIK, for the most part, the language is the same, some of the slangs and terms have different meanings there. For example, pants there are referred to as underwear, and consider what we call pants, trousers.

It always says English UK. You do not need to stick to any provider's OS.

Recheck your current version in Status and recheck the file name you downloaded and post them here. It sounds like you either have the version already installed or you downloaded the wrong file... ?
