Hey guys new poster here. I have been in the cell stuff for a while, working now in the it part of things im not as familiar with it. I wanted to be able to edit and work with documents like I could on the treo but now from what I have looked at and read it cant be done, well without purchasing an additional 3rd party software. I know that you can upgrade the os on the device, but im having some issues with that. Just more worries than issues, can i get the old os back if i need it, they dont support the new version, but that dosent matter, i should be able to find answers here. I can follow the directions that are there but im just kind of leary of doing it. I see that some have had issues and some havent, but my main concearn for doing it is that it have an office viewer, otherwise ill just purchase this other software, or take the phone back and do something else. I really like the blackberry and its awesome on the service and call quality and such. I just need it to work with other things at work as well.

Another concearn, how secure is the BIS? I get my email from work that way but I want to make sure that things are encrypted as far as my login and password to the mail server that I use. Its webmail but I want to make sure that its secure. Anyone have any answers on that?

Yes, you can downgrade to the old OS.

BIS is secure.
