Please Login to Remove!

ok ive looked hopefully its not out there cause i cant find it. i followed the sticky the upgrade went fine everything seems to work except i get muted or something. out of the blue i answer calls or make a call and i cant hear a thing. no rings when placing a call and nobody on the other end when answering it. has anyone had this problem and if so how do i fix. new to bb but been running firmware updates on lots of things like psps and mod chips and stuff so i do know some stuff.

The 4.5.0.81 works fine on my 8310. I would do what the previous post indicated and re-apply the newest OS. Make sure your menu'ing the correct file for your model. There is a difference between the 8300 and 8310 files.

Let us know how your doing...

Are you running Vista?
You can wipe the device using JLCommander...

Did Desktop Manager ever work? (I see the first post)
Pull your battery and reboot.
Attach your BB to your USB.
Or on XP you can test your connection using JLCommander by taking a screen shot of your Blackberry. Just follow the menu prompts... At least if this is working, your connecting to your device. You should be able to use the wipe command. Remember, it takes awhile for this to wipe the device and it will reboot.

.55 is not the latest. Did you download the newer .81?

I am thinking you do not have the latest installed....?
Look at your C:\ PROGRAM FILES\COMMON\RESEARCH IN MOTION\SHARED\LOADER FILES and you can see what you installed there...

The second file on the right is the newer version... 8310-v4.5.0.81_P2.7.0.78

If you did download the newer .81, you can run through the primer and remember to delete the vendor.xml file so that you can update your device. Once you delete the vendor.xml you should be able to run the applcation loader to update the device.

Instructions are here...

There is a difference between the .81 littleman is talking about and the one holden is talking about. Littleman is talking about 4.5.0.55 (81) and holden is talking about 4.5.0.81 (108)

run JLCommander in XP - Or try compatability mode in Vista... (right click on the JL_Cmder.cmd file and use the property sheet to run JLCommander in XP compatability mode.)

Littleman, Please go to your Blackberry OPTIONS / STATUS -
what is your current OS show? .55??

And take a breather...

when you get back, please try to boot to XP and use JLCommander to just take a screen shot of your device. If you can do the screen shot (menu 3) your connected....

Thx...
