Default Possible to disable certain functions on a device?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a problem with the Shift- function.

It keeps activating itself. Meaning the phone always is active --> I have to charge three times a day.

Also I get caps while writing mail\ sms.

Does anyone have a solution?

Is there a tool like registry editor similar to WM?

Cheers.

edit: I have already updated the software.

Did moisture get in the BB? Try drying it out in a bag of uncooked rice

Moisture did not get in the device.

I must admit that the device is well used, and it has been in for service. They said that there was nothing they could do, and I was hoping someone here was able to prove them wrong. This is not a HW error, as in stuck key, but it could well be a problem elsewhere in the device.

Really can't afford a new BB right now.

If you're confident that it's not hardware related, you can try to reinstall a clean copy of the os. Maybe there's a glitch with the one that's installed on your device?

As soon as I got the problem, I installed the new OS. That means that I have the same problem with two different versions of software. That would eliminate a glitch.
