Default Help Transferring Applications??

Please Login to Remove!

I have had a BB Curve (8310) for some time now. I bought it before the Dobson Cellular One merger with AT&T. Today I got a new BB Curve (8310) this is totally AT&T compatible. On my old device I had things like Pocket Day, BeamBerry, etc. How can I move those apps from the old device to the new device? Can I also move themes and ringtones that I have previously purchased or otherwise accumulated?

TY

The Switch Device Wizard is designed for this. It is part of Desktop Manager.
It will copy the data and applications from one BlackBerry to another.

If you purchase something based on the PIN of the old BB, you may have to get a new license key from the vendor.

Thank you! I feel stupid for asking the question now. I feel even stupider asking if there are instructions to run the Switch Device Wizard? I seem to be get the "stuff" from my old device, but I never see the chance to transfer it to the new device?

Connect the old device to the PC. Start DM and select switch device wizard. It will pull all the data from the old device and then prompt you to disconnect the old device and connect the new device. At that point connect the new device and click next. From there it will move all the data onto the new device.

Is it possible to pick & choose what type of data I want to switch from an old device to a new one or will it automatically switch everything over?

You can do a backup of the old device, then connect the new device and select advanced. From there you can select which databases to copy over to the new one.

However doing it this way will not copy your 3rd party applications over. To move those manually, follow these steps closely : http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...arty-apps.html

Otherwise the switch device wizard will copy everything over.
