I have a 8310, 4.2 OS on O2 how can I up grade to 4.5? I have already unlocked my vendor themes, if I upgrate will I have to do this again? and finally are there real advantages to upgrading?

Follow these steps: Latest OS: 8310 4.5.0.108/4.5.0.81 (English + EastAsia languages)

There are many advantages to upgrading. For one youe will get HTML Email, you will be able to watch youtube, and lots more.

Is it official from O2 on their website? Go to http://www.blackberry.com/upgrades plug in your bb click upgrade, if needed install the app loader, and it will tell you if you can upgrade. Otherwise don't because it voids your warranty if it is still valid for you

It is from vodafone but if 4.5 isn't official on O2 you void your warranty

Just an FYI:
You can always return to the O2 version if you need to return the device for warranty replacement. You will have no support if you call O2 and they ask you what OS your running if your running 4.5.

Will this in fact void the warranty? The OP may not be able to get tech support as it isn't officially released by his carrier, but could always roll back to 4.2.

That is NOT true. An upgraded OS will not void your warranty. AT&T recommended to me at one time to upgrade to another carrier's OS. Your not messing with the hardware, so there's nothing for the warranty to be void. You can always downgrade if you want to. They can't tell if you've changed your OS.
